Capturing the Rise of Virginia Vitesse – Loudoun County’s New Semi-Pro Women’s Basketball Team

Virginia Vitesse works out with True AP in Chantilly, Virginia

I’m incredibly honored to be working with Virginia Vitesse, a new semi-professional women’s basketball team based in Loudoun County, Virginia. As soon as I saw their call for supporters in a Facebook group, I knew I had to be part of it. Basketball has always been my first love—from playing for hours in my driveway to competing at the YMCA during school breaks, it’s been part of my heart and soul.

Virginia Vitesse, founded and managed by Ashley Korateng, is just getting started, and the energy is electric. I’ve been documenting their journey—covering team workouts, practices, media day, and upcoming games. These women are fierce, passionate, and incredibly talented. I’ve only attended one practice so far, and it was hard not to jump in and shoot around myself—even after all these years.

Last week, I captured one of their intense training sessions with True AP at The NZone in Chantilly, Virginia. Raphael, their trainer, brought incredible energy and skill to the session. It was a pleasure to meet him and see the team working hard as they prepare for their first season.

Games will be held at The Virginia Academy in Ashburn every Sunday, which is right in my backyard. I can’t wait to share more basketball photography as the season unfolds. These women deserve the spotlight, and I’m thrilled to help tell their story through my lens.

Follow along for exclusive behind-the-scenes images, game-day moments, and more from the Virginia Vitesse’s debut season.
